The ERC-funded Epistemic Transitions in Islamic Philosophy, Theology and Science (ETI) research project is delighted to invite proposals for individual papers, or whole panels, to the “After Avicenna” conference, which will be hosted by the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. Papers and panels may be proposed by senior and early scholars from Professor to Ph.D. level.
On March 1 2018, Akihiro Tawara, a visiting researcher from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, presented his latest research titled “The Obscure Fate of the Luminous Spirit: Avicenna’s Treatise on Cardiac Drugs and Qutb al-Dīn al-Shīrāzī’s al-Tuhfa al-Sa’dīyah (Commentary on Avicenna’s Canon of Medicine, Book One) to the ETI team.
